イェイツの詩集「葦を吹き渡る風」から「天上のクロース」Aedh wishes for the Cloths of Heaven（壺齋散人訳）
金色や銀色の光で刺繍した
天上のクロースをもっていたら
青いのや灰色や黒っぽいクロース
夜、昼、夜明けの色のクロース
それらを君の足元に敷いてあげたい
でも貧乏なぼくがもってるのは夢ばかり
だからそれを君の足元に敷いてあげよう
ぼくの夢なのだからそっと踏んで欲しい
イェイツは詩の中で3人の人格を登場させることがある。Aedh のほかにマイケル・ロバーツとレッド・ハンラハンの三人である。このうちロバーツには知性を、ハンラハンには原始的な心性を、Aedh には瞑想的な気分を割り当てている。

HAD I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
